Week Fourteen

rainy day & new umbrella

Classes are over! I can completely erase all of the Italian I learned from my memory now, haha.

This week I had a ton of stuff due, so it feels like a huge burden is gone. Just 2 final crits and a final exam to go.

Wednesday I joined another class on a Grafitti Tour excursion they went on to an old military post, transformed into a "campus" and graffiti canvas for Italian youth. There is graffiti all over Rome, and apparently it's somewhat of a tradition. The artists over here aren't necessarily the "hoodlum" types we normally stereotype graffiti-makers to be; in fact, generally they're a pretty well educated crowd, and at times, even get commissioned to do their thing around the city. This base is basically a place for them to sleep, socialize, eat, drink, and do art.

(self portraits were due this week!)

We also checked out a cool apertivo (like happy hour sorta, buy one drink and eat as much buffet food as you want) in Trastevere.

Thursday was the school-wide Student Art Show- but I'm a dummy and forgot to take pictures of the stuff I put in! (my painting final project book, 2 cut paper collages, 1 other photo went in as well as this one):

my fishies!

we got flowers for our italian teacher- i'll miss her!

a living sculpture installation, he was hilarious

This weekend I'm gonna take a little trip- I'll be back on Sunday to tell you about it.
